What the Warriors means to them

Being a warrior to me means striving to improve the lives of every participant in the program, regardless of their playing ability, rank, or branch of service. When I left the military almost 20 years ago, transitioning back to civilian life presented numerous obstacles. Unfortunately, there were few programs available for veterans. These programs would have provided a space where we could openly talk about our challenges and find support from those who had gone through similar experiences. The Flyers Warriors is the first initiative I've encountered that genuinely prioritizes the well-being of veterans. The program offers a wide range of resources, including mental health support, educational opportunities, and wellness programs. It serves as a valuable outlet for veterans like myself as well as provides opportunities to give back. While I really enjoy playing hockey every Sunday, the true highlight is the time spent with teammates traveling to tournaments, working charity events, and hanging out in the parking lot after games.
